Torah Circle/Teen Scene Volunteers FYI
(8th - 12th Graders)

Q: What is the Torah Circle/Teen Scene Program?
A: Volunteers spend 2 fun filled hours bonding with a child/teen with disabilities while learning about Jewish traditions, values and holidays through a variety of hands on and engaging activities including music, art, sports, drum circle, food fun, ZamDance & science! Volunteers are paired up with one buddy for the whole 2 hours

Q: When is the Torah Circle/Teen Scene held?
A: Torah Circle/Teen Scene are held two Sundays a month from 1:00-3:30pm at the JCC in Rockvilleor under the tent at the Friendship House. Please see our website for dates. We serve pizza lunch every time to all volunteers.

Q: What is the requirement?
A: Volunteer as often as you are able (you are not required to volunteer for every date- but you are required to come to one you committed to- see next question). Arrive at 1:00pm to participate in short meeting to find out about your buddy and hear an overview of the day’s activities as well as an ice breaker. You are required to be present for your buddy and have a very good time :).

Q: How do I sign up for each Torah Circle/Teen Scene?
A: One week before each Torah Circle/Teen Scene program you will receive an email with a link to a Signup Genius sheet. You can view all the details about the activities for the day as well as slots to sign up. Use the comment box if there is a particular friend or buddy you would like to be paired with and we will do our best to make it happen.

    There is NO texting or using your cell phone while you are with your buddy. We have this rule in place so that you can connect with your buddy and have a great time together.
